History
EdgeGamers™ Organization =(eGO)=
eGO was founded on July 1st, 2006 by JohnT and Artimus with just a website and a single Day of Defeat Source Avalanche server. Soon after, Slayr357, Kendle, Kamakize Tommy, Rashell, and Dominion joined on, creating the first eGO Council. What was to come was the transformation of a small fledgling clan into a shining city on the hill.
Additional Day of Defeat:Source servers were added and quickly gained top rankings around the world. Slayr357 and FluffyTDestroyer have lead this charge. With a few promising games getting ready to hit the market, talks of expanding were being held in Council.
On October 10th, 2007 the Orange Box was released, containing Team Fortress 2. With that, the eGO TF2 division was officially launched. GardenGroveVW, MasterofPuppets, Baron Rojo, and Drunken Sailor were asked to spearhead this second division. This addition grew EdgeGamers by more than double its members in short time. Other Council members that have been responsible for this division are USCG Hammer and A Nurse From Texas.
With the successes in DoD and TF2, eGO tested the waters with other FPS games. Mostly Harmless was asked take the top leadership spot for a Counter Strike Source division and Kamakize Tommy took over Call of Duty. Both of those units run like well oiled machines and have very popular servers. GardenGroveVW and Drunken Sailor took responsibility of an Insurgency division, resulting in servers that quickly took the top ranked spots out of all INS servers in the world. The leadership spot was handed over to USCG Hammer in time.
EdgeGamers stepped outside of the FPS box in 2010 with the creation of an EVE division, co-lead by GardenGroveVW and Dominion. A World of Warcraft experiment is under way as well.
The March 2010 release of Battlefield Bad Company 2 was met by eGO with 8 servers in locations around the world. The new division is overseen by Artimus and Kendle.
To date, all eGO divisions are doing well under the guidance of the Council, but mainly because of the hard, dedicated work of the Division Leaders and Advisors who have volunteered for those important leadership roles. These successes are also attributed to eGO's mission, which is to provide a place where gamers of all calibers, from all over the world, can meet for family friendly, respectful game play. eGO servers are branded “punk-free” and its Council often receives notes from players who only play in eGO servers, proclaiming appreciation for a place where families can game without being surrounded by the abusive stuff found on many other servers.
This clan's foundation rests on honor, loyalty, and integrity. There is a heavy emphasis on maturity, fair play, helping others and having a fun and competitive gaming experience that all can enjoy. Because of this, eGO has attracted the most dedicated members and experienced administrators in the gaming world. eGO has become a place where each admin can and does make a difference. No matter what real life brings, in the world of eGO, you are valued and counted on to help make things right.
Our Structure:
=(e)=™ -> =(eG)=™ -> =(eGO)=™ -> =(eGO)=™ Advisor -> =(eGO)=™ Division Leader -> =(eGO)=™ Council Member -> =(eGO)=™ Technical Council -> =(eGO)=™ Community Manager
- =(e)=™
- e's are recruits. They are learning the ways of eGO and getting to know everyone within the clan. e’s are held to higher standards than regular pubs on our servers. Although admin is not given at this point, they are watched closely to see who is capable of becoming an administrator. They must learn that admin is not a given and should just have fun and enjoy themselves in game.
- =(eG)=™
- eG's are probationary admins with limited admin ability. These members have read and signed off on our rules and admin regulations and are full members of the clan. Until they have proven they are capable of handling the responsibilities of full admin, these are our "trainees" and are watched very closely. They need to prove themselves and should know that admin is a privilege, not a right. They are kept on a tight leash and if they preform well, they are given the responsibility of a higher level of admin.
- =(eGO)=™
- eGO's are our top level admins. They are generally well respected by the rest of the eGO community and looked upon to set good examples for new admins and public players alike. These members know how to respond to almost all situations or how to contact the right people if they don’t. They have the administrative tools to handle all situations and help teach others the way to act and admin on the eGO servers.
- =(eGO)=™ Advisor
- Advisors are experienced clan members, essential to keeping eGO running. They are the first level of clan leadership and are the GO-TO people in the event of a problem. They report to their Division Leaders.
- =(eGO)=™ Division Leader
- Division Leaders are the highest level of leadership for each division. They are experienced, well known members of the community and are often recommended by peers or higher ups. They report directly to the Council.
- =(eGO)=™ Council Member
- These members are the key decision makers for the clan. They are responsible for ensuring that all divisions within eGO run perfectly and that our membership is informed and happy. All policy is handed down to the clan by them either directly or by delegation to the Division Leaders.
- =(eGO)=™ Technical Council Member
- Technical Council members have specific technical responsibility over crucial systems. The Community Managers rely on these members for their advanced knowledge and forward-looking thinking.
- =(eGO)=™ Community Manager
- Community Managers are ultimately responsible, to the world outside of the clan, for everything within eGO. They work as a Council Member, but, while listening to the opinions and advise of the entire Council, and also trying to listen to the entire Edge Gamers Organization, have the final say on all matters related to eGO servers.

Controversy
Many users from various gaming websites (GameFAQs, GameSpot, IGN) have reported admin abuse frequently. This may be due to the fact that an admin position is relatively easy to get and there is no age limit. eGO however has denied all claims of any form of abuse, and if it even existed then it was dealt with in a swift and fair manner. It should be noted that most, if not all, claims to admin abuse are generally said by those who have willingly broken their rules and refuse to follow them.
eGO also has a very strict "No swearing" policy that has been subject to debate among many non-members. Many argue that such a rule has no place in an M rated game where you frequently blow people to bloody pulp and the characters themselves sometimes say minor swears, while eGO reminds such users that it is a family friendly server which they pay for, and consequentially can make whatever rules they deem necessary. Their response at times is "It's rated mature, please act like it." The language rule is mostly set for the leaders to look for maturity in many of the players, as they treat their image and membership very seriously.
