The Grizzled veteran is a Miscellaneous badge awarded by Valve to the Team Fortress 2 community as part of their 119th Update Celebration. It appears as a gold, rectangular medal worn on the class's chest, not unlike the Gentle manne's service medal. The Grizzled veteran medal is awarded to players who bought and played Team Fortress 2 within 3 months of its initial release.

Notes

• The Grizzled veteran, along with the Soldier of fortune and Mercenary medals, were the first Miscellaneous items to be available to all 9 classes.
• The class symbol on the medals reflects the class wearing it.
• This item is given out to users who first played Team Fortress 2 from 00:00 October 10, 2007 (UTC) to 23:59 January 09, 2008 (UTC).
• The Grizzled veteran was originally given out to players who participated in the Team Fortress 2 beta, however, these players were later awarded the Primeval warrior medal instead.
