|---|---|---|---|---|
| Medic | v | Scout | High | When moving about the battlefield alone, be wary of Scouts. Since they can dodge your syringes it would be best to heal another team-mate and let them do the dirty work. A skilled Scout can take you out even while you are accompanied by a team-mate, so get your team-mate's attention either through Voice chat or moving in front of their view while dodging constantly. Trying to Bonesaw a Scout is hard since they can outmaneuver you and the Bat is much faster than your Bonesaw. They can easily retreat out of range and blast you with their Scattergun so backpedal while firing your Syringe gun at them. |
| Medic | v | Soldier | High | A Soldier's rockets can take you out very quickly, so it is recommended you don't take on a Soldier head-to-head as none of your weapons really pack a punch at medium to long range. Let a team-mate take out the Soldier as you heal him, but be wary as the rockets can severely damage you and your team-mate. If you survive the initial volley then your team-mate should be able to take out the Soldier before he reloads. Put your team-mate or a corner between you and a Soldier to avoid being hit by stray rockets. |
| Medic | v | Pyro | Medium-High | A Pyro can be deadly if he gets within range, so use your higher speed to your advantage and run while firing from your Syringe gun. When with a team-mate, he should ideally be able to take out the Pyro before he gets within close range, allowing you to quickly put out the flames with your Medigun. If you are attacking with multiple team-mates, it would be beneficial if you can afford the time, to put out anyone else also on fire, building up more charge for your uber. Be especially wary for ambush from behind as this makes you his first target. |
| Medic | v | Demoman | High | In a one-on-one encounter, use your speed to dodge the Demoman's grenades and stickies from medium range while laying down fire from your Syringe gun. When with a team-mate, a round of grenades from an enemy Demoman's Grenade launcher can take out your buddy even as you are healing him, so get your team-mate to mow him down quickly before he does so. A carpet of Sticky bombs can also take you and your team-mate out in one go so either avoid them altogether or, if you team-mate is a Heavy, get him to push the stickies out the way with Minigun fire. |
| Medic | v | Heavy | High | If you aren't standing behind and healing a friendly Heavy or Soldier when facing the opposing team's Heavy, then you are just asking to be mowed down. Otherwise, your buddy should have the edge over your opponent, unless he is also accompanied by a Medic. If the other Heavy is accompanied by a Medic and gets the better of your own healing target, it would be wise to run. Don't try to take a Heavy down on your own unless he is severely weakened, in which case a few rounds from your Syringe gun or a few hits with your Bone saw should do the trick. Try to circle strafe, jump, and duck around him to confuse him of your direction as your movement is much quicker than his. If you are alone, skilled with the Syringe gun, and outside of the Minigun's range, try firing enough syringes at the Heavy to force him to retreat. It's a risky tactic, but an option when you need to remain on the front lines. |
| Medic | v | Engineer | High | You shouldn't be in a position where you have to move within range of an enemy Sentry gun unaccompanied. Instead, heal a friendly Heavy, Soldier, or Demoman and allow them to take out the Sentry while healing them constantly from just out of sight. If the Sentry gun is too well placed, or the Engineer is repairing too quickly, it's a good time to activate your Ubercharge. When meeting a lone Engineer, stay out of the effective range of his Shotgun while firing with your Syringe gun. Don't be duped by the Engineer and allow him to lead you toward his or a team-mates Sentry, it maybe best to run instead. If he chases you, fallback to your Syringe gun and if you catch him reloading (and are close enough) switch to your Bonesaw to finish him off. |
| Medic | v | Medic | Medium-High | When fighting one-on-one with another Medic, try to deliver a few whacks with the Bone saw while avoiding shots from his Syringe gun or attacks from his own Bone saw. When with a buddy, a Medic should be mowed down fairly quickly unless he has a Medic buddy of his own. Try to take him out if he strays out of the cover of his buddy, and outlast him and his team-mate at which point you should be able to take him down quickly. If he sneaks up on you while you are distracted healing, watch for his deadly Bone saw and alert your team-mate. |
| Medic | v | Sniper | Low-High | You're pretty quick, so don't stop moving. Move through Sniper hunting grounds as quickly as possible or find cover. Don't be afraid to leave your clueless buddy in the dust if he decides to take it slow, admiring the sprays and dandelions along the way. A Medic is one of the -- if not the -- highest priority target for a Sniper and they can one-shot a Heavy at 150% health, nevermind any other buddy you might be trailing. Ask your buddy to lay down suppressive fire so the Snipers can't get a clear shot. At anything less than long range, a Sniper should be a fair target for your buddy. |
| Medic | v | Spy | Low-High | When you're in a healing combination with a Heavy or Soldier, it attracts attention, particularly from Spies. If you know what you're doing you can Spy check suspicious team-mates calling to you for help by emptying a few rounds from the Syringe gun into their body or deliver a few whacks from the Bone saw. Another option is to run into any team-mates that could be a spy, as you will collide with them. In a one-on-one melee fight the Medic will prevail as his Bone saw out-damages the Butterfly knife from the front. When you're healing another player be sure to never stop moving, and watch your sights. If you can afford to, take down the Spy with your Bone saw and then get back to healing your buddy. An exposed Spy should make easy prey for your buddy as long as you alert him to the Spy's presence. |
