General Medic Achievements

Image:tf_get_healpoints.jpg Team Doctor

Accumulate 25000 heal points as a Medic.

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Simply spend a reasonable amount of time as Medic healing and this should happen incidentally.

Achievement Pack Achievements

Image:tf_medic_assist_capturer.png Ubi Concordia, Ibi Victoria (In unity, there is victory)

Assist in killing five enemies on an enemy control point in a single life

Difficulty: Hard

How to: This one is very difficult. Try to have a high endurance, high damage class such as a Heavy or Soldier as your Medic buddy, though a Heavy is preferable due to his lesser dependence on ammo. Try to take points that are not being heavily assaulted by teammates (such a Point A on gravelpit so you do not receive assist kills and if possible, refrain from capturing the point until you have obtained the achievement and instead wait for the enemy to come to you. If you have an ubercharge and the situation is hectic, use it.

Image:tf_medic_assist_demoman.png Medical Breakthrough

Assist in destroying five enemy Engineer buildings with a single Ubercharge on a Demoman

Difficulty: Hard

How to: A rather situational achievement. Find a map with areas that often have a number of buildings situated in one area such as near the final point in Dustbowl stage 2m in the raised area past the building near the second terminus of Goldrush stage 2, or in the sewers in 2fort (if doing this it's best to enter from the water as it gives you more over if anything goes wrong.) Since there will be inevitably be a number of sentries and crits do not affect buildings, a regular ubercharge is highly preferable.

Image:tf_medic_assist_heavy.png Blunt Trauma

Assist in punching two enemies with a single Ubercharge on a Heavy

Difficulty: Medium

How to: The main difficulty of this achievement comes from the Heavy's slow speed combined with the short range of his melee attack. As such, try to ambush foes, back them into a corner, or attack large groups of enemies during an assault when they are distracted. It should be noted that you do not have to kill the enemies, just punch two different enemies only once.

Note- The Heavy plays a short animation when he brings out his fists, during which he cannot attack. Activate the charge a few seconds after the Heavy takes them out to remedy this.

Image:tf_medic_assist_heavy_long.png Big Pharma

Assist a heavy in killing twenty enemies where neither of you die

Difficulty: Hard

How to: This is one of the more difficult ones. Find a good heavy (it helps if you are communicating via voice chat) and stick with him. Make good use of cover and make health and ammo stops regularly. Avoid wide open spaces and watch out for Spies at all times. This may be easier if you heal a Heavy and wait for the enemy to attack rather than taking the fight to them. If at any point you have half or less of your health, find a health pack or other Medic immediately.

Image:tf_medic_assist_medic.png Consultation

Assist a fellow Medic in killing five enemies in a single life

Difficulty: Hard

How to: Due to the low health of the Medic class as well as their low offensive capability, this achievement can be quite difficult. Try to ambush weaker foes with the bonesaw and blutsauger and use an ubercharge if necessary, preferably the regular variety.

Image:tf_medic_assist_pyro.png Autoclave

Assist in burning five enemies with a single Ubercharge on a Pyro

Difficulty: Medium

How to: The main difficulty with this achievement is finding a situation where five enemies will be conveniently gathered in one place. Situations in which this may occur include the start of the match or when the offensive team are crouched around the cart in a Payload map.

Note- It is not necessary for the Pyro to kill five enemies, only to set them on fire.

Image:tf_medic_assist_scout.png You'll Feel a Little Prick

Assist in killing three enemies with a single Ubercharge on a Scout

Difficulty: Hard

How to: Due to the size of the Scout's clip and the sporadic damage of the Scattergun, an ubercharge with the Kritzkrieg is preferable if you can take the enemy by surprise. Situations in which three enemies may be found in one place include the start of the match or when the offensive team are crouched around the cart in a Payload map.

Image:tf_medic_assist_soldier.png Blast Assist

Assist in exploding five enemies with a single Ubercharge on a Soldier

Difficulty: Hard

How to: One difficulty lies with whether the Soldier can take all five enemies down in ten seconds with the small clip size of his rocket launcher. As such, a crit ubercharge is preferable to a regular one, as a hit with a crit rocket is an almost guaranteed kill. The other difficulty lies in finding a situation in which five enemies will be standing in close proximity. Try at the start of a match after waiting for the enemy's ubercharges to wear off or when the offensive team are crouched around the cart in a Payload map.

Image:tf_medic_assist_vs_nemeses.png Doctor Assisted Homicide

Assist in killing twenty nemeses

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Should happen incidentally after a modest amount of time as Medic. Ask your Medic buddy if they have a nemesis and if so, make them a priority target. As an alternative go onto a duel server and allow the opposition to dominate you then start healing teammates while they take them out.

Image:tf_medic_bonesaw_medics.png Peer Review

Kill fifty Medics with your bone saw

Difficulty: Medium

How to: Difficult on a regular server, especially if the other Medic decides to use ablutsauger rather than fight on equal terms. Try to join a server that specializes in duel or melee type maps. If you do want to do this on a regular server, try to sneak up behind enemy Medics as they are healing someone and bonesaw them before they or their buddy can react. Remember to kill Medics with your bonesaw not the Needle gun.

Image:tf_medic_bonesaw_nomisses.png Sawbones

Hit enemies with your bone saw five times in a row without dying or missing

Difficulty: Hard

How to: Try to take a group of enemies by surprise or ideally, a distracted Heavy, who should take five hits alone before either of you kills the other. Circle strafe him if he reacts before you get five hits in.

Image:tf_medic_bonesaw_spy_callers.png FYI I am a Medic

Use a bonesaw to kill five enemy spies who have been calling for Medic The picture for this achievement (the FYI) comes from the youtube video FYI I am a spy. Valve has confirmed that inspiration for achievement in fact came from the video.

Difficulty: Medium

How to: Should happen incidentally after a modest amount of time playing Medic. If the situation allows spy check anyone who comes up to you for healing and uses the medic call with your bonesaw.

Image:tf_medic_charge_blocker.png Preventive Medicine

Block the enemy from capturing a control point with an Ubercharged teammate

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Simply activate the charge while both you and the enemy are on the control point and it should count as a block.

Image:tf_medic_charge_friends.png Family Practice

Ubercharge ten of your steam community friends

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Join a game in which a friend is currently playing, or ask a friend to join a game you are currently playing and ubercharge them. To find games in which your friends are playing, use the friends tab in the server tab or the friends window in Steam Community.

Note- You can ubercharge a friend as a disguised Spy if they are on the other team and it will count towards the achievement.

Image:tf_medic_charge_juggle.png Second Opinion

Ubercharge two teammates at once. Note that this means simultaneously, which can be achieved by changing rapidly between two targets with ubercharge in effect.

Difficulty: Easy

How to: This can be done easily before the match has even begun. Simply fill your ubercharge meter during the setup period, activate it and switch rapidly between two targets as you are waiting in the spawn area. If possible, ask your targets if they can stand still next to one another in front of you. If it doesn't work, try again, but wait a second or two on the first target, then start switching rapidly.

Image:tf_medic_counter_charge.png Double Blind Trial

Deploy an Ubercharge within eight seconds of a nearby enemy medic deploying his

Difficulty: Easy

How to: This occurs frequently at the beginning of a round when all medics have their ubercharge meters full. Just wait until the enemy medics have deployed their ubercharges and then activate your own either straight after or during theirs.

Image:tf_medic_extinguish_teammates.png Infernal Medicine

Extinguish one hundred burning teammates

Difficulty: Easy

How to: This should occur incidentally after a reasonable amount of time playing Medic. Just listen for cries of 'fire!' and Heal any burning allies until the flames are fully extinguished. Make sure the flames go out while the beam from your healing gun is focused on them, and that you are the only person healing them when this happens.

Image:tf_medic_freezecam_ragdoll.png Autopsy Report

Provide an enemy with a freezecam shot of you taunting above their ragdoll

Difficulty: Easy

How to: This one is simple. Just kill an opponent with your bonesaw or blutsauger and press the taunt button ('g') while standing over their body for the achievement.

Note- It does not matter whether or not your opponent saves the shot.

Image:tf_medic_heal_achiever.png Bedside Manner

be healing a teammate as he achieves an achievement of his own

Difficulty: Medium

How to: Usually happens incidentally. To increase your chances, go for achievements that overlap in their requirements such as consultation and bedside manner or autoclave and flamethrower.

Image:tf_medic_heal_callers.png Grand Rounds

Heal two hundred teammates after they have called for Medic

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Should happen incidentally after a reasonable amount of time playing Medic. No real hints other than that it will happen faster if you stay in the thick of the action.

Image:tf_medic_heal_engineer.png Midwife Crisis

Heal an Engineer as he repairs his sentry gun while it's under enemy fire

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Join a map on defense where a sentry gun will normally be covering a critical chokepoint such as Dustbowl or Goldrush, and heal the engineer as he repairs his sentry when the enemy are making their push.

Image:tf_medic_heal_grind.png Chief of Staff

Accumulate one million total health points.

Difficulty: Easy

How to: This one isn't exactly hard, it just takes a very long amount of time. Play maps where a lot of people require healing constantly, such as Dustbowl or Goldrush.

Image:tf_medic_heal_large.png Intern

Accumulate seven thousand heal points in a single life

Difficulty: Hard

How to: Play maps where a lot of people require healing constantly, such as Dustbowl or Goldrush or play at the back of a map but near teammates taking damage (the sniper deck on 2 Fort is ideal). Stay out of the enemy line of fire and have some form of cover in sight at all times. Know when to cut your losses and ditch your Medic buddy if your situation is hopeless. That way at least one of you will survive. You can press TAB to see how much total healing you have done, though this will be the total amount of time while on that server, so subtract your total healing points at the beginning of the round. Keep in mind that overheal points still count as healing done. Rather, the amount of health healed in order for your teammate to reach his max overheal health, count as healing done. For example, when you overheal a Heavy, he goes from 300 health to 450 health. That difference of 150 count as healing points for you. This means that during the round setup time, you should overheal every person on your team. Often times this alone can net you 1000 heal points before the round has even started. Be sure to overheal everyone you see (within reason) when the round actually starts. Engineers and Spies often get overlooked when it comes to overhealing, but that's 75 healing you're passing up if you don't overheal them. It only takes a second anyway.

Image:tf_medic_heal_huge.png Specialist

Accumulate ten thousand heal points in a single life

Difficulty: Hard

How to: See Intern

Image:tf_medic_heal_under_fire.png Quadruple Bypass

Heal a teammate who is taking fire form four enemies at once

Difficulty: Medium

How to: This will usually occur during the start of a match, or when you and your Medic buddy are making a push on the final point. An ubercharge should help your buddy become a priority target for at least four enemies. Maps such as Goldrush and Dustbowl often start with a huge firefight, so these maps are your best bets.

Image:tf_medic_invite_join_charge.png House Call

Join a game that one of your friends is in and then deploy an ÜberCharge on him

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Exactly as it says. Use the join game option from the friends window in the steam community program.

Image:tf_medic_kill_healed_spy.png Hypocritical Oath

Kill an enemy spy that you have been healing.

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Identify an enemy spy, give them a quick puff of healing and then whip out your bonesaw or blutsauger and go to town.

Image:tf_medic_kill_while_charged.png Placebo Effect

Kill five enemies in a single life, while having your Ubercharge ready but undeployed

Difficulty: Hard

How to: First, fill your ubercharge meter, then stay near health respawns and areas with cover, ambushing weak and distracted foes and playing it safe. Try not to keep your Medigun out as the undeployed uber will be highly noticeable and make you a prime target.

Image:tf_medic_rapid_charge.png Trauma Queen

Deploy three Ubercharges in less than five minutes and assist in five kills during that time

Difficulty: Medium

How to: Play maps where a lot of people require healing constantly, such as Dustbowl or Goldrush. Constantly heal your teammates at the major chokepoints and you should get this achievement.

Image:tf_medic_save_falling_teammate.png Medical Intervention

Save a falling teammate from dying on impact

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Just ask a friendly Soldier to hurt themselves with their own rockets until they are on reasonably low health, then heal them as they rocket jump and you should get this achievement, even without an enemy in sight.

Image:tf_medic_save_teammate.png Triage

Deploy an Ubercharge on a teammate less than a second before they are hit by a critical explosive

Difficulty: Medium

How to: This should happen incidentally after a number of ubercharges on your teammates. If you want to do it intentionally then wait for a crit rocket, as they move slowly and are easier to react to in time. Ubercharging a friendly Demoman when he has planted a critical sticky and getting him to detonate can also help you get this achievement.

Image:tf_medic_setup_charge.png Surgical Prep

Have an Ubercharge ready before the set up phase ends

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Just heal a teammate during setup until your ubercharge meter is full. Easy as pie.

Image:tf_medic_simul_charge.png Group Health

Work with two other medics to deploy three simultaneous Ubercharges

Difficulty: Medium

How to: Requires a little teamwork. If there are at least two other Medics then plan it with them. This is easiest at the start of the match since you can all build your ubercharge meters uninterrupted during the setup period. If you want, you can deploy the ubercharges on each other, rather than three separate buddies.

Image:tf_medic_switch_to_medic.png Play Doctor

In a team with no Medics, be first to switch to Medic after a teammate calls medic and heal 500 health

Difficulty: Easy

How to: Fairly simple. Join a game where no one is playing medic as any class except medic, (this is more likely on defense,) wait for a nearby teammate to call for healing, then change class to medic and get to healing.

Image:tf_medic_syringe_scouts.png Does It Hurt When I Do This?

Kill fifty Scouts with your syringe gun

Difficulty: Hard

How to: Happens incidentally, but takes some time. Due to Scouts' speed, try to aim slightly ahead of them rather than at them to kill them. The blutsauger is an effective weapon for this, as Scouts pack a punch at close range and you need all the health you can get. Try to play on maps where Scouts are used often, such as Granary and Gravelpit. Don't forget to use your Syringe gun and not your Bonesaw.

Image:tf_medic_top_scoreboard.png First Do No Harm

Play a full round without killing any enemies and score the highest on a team of six or more players

Difficulty: Hard

How to: Play for a while on any class until you are on the top of the scoreboard, then switch to Medic and heal a competent player while ensuring you are not overtaken by the other players. On servers that don't reset after a certain amount of time, you can have the highest amount of time by simply playing longer than the other players. Alternatively identify your best player and link up to constantly heal them from the start of the round, your ubercharges, healing and assists will ensure you finish above them in the high score table especially if they die more than you.

Note- 'Score the highest' refers to the main scoreboard (visible with TAB), not the points scored in the round.
