Reload
From TF2 Wiki
A reload (Default key: "R") is when a character inserts new shots or Ammo into the weapon that he has equipped. When that clip is empty, the character must reload in order to fire again. You can reload only when you have expended at least one shot of ammunition. Each weapon reloads differently. Some can reload each shot individually and others are reloaded with a clip. A clip or magazine refills all the shots that can be used. Different weapons may also have varying reload times, making you more vulnerable while reloading. The following are weapons that have Ammo:
- Scattergun = 6 shots, 32 total, reloads individual shots
- Pistol = 12 shots, 36 total, reloads with clip
- Rocket Launcher = 4 shots, 16 total, reloads individual shots
