TF Industries is a mysterious corporation based in Washington DC "devoted to the highest level of craftsmanship and personal security". They specialise in the very latest in military technology; selling all manner of deadly, cutting-edge devices to prospective buyers. They also run the popular 'Buildables' line of engineering products.
They offer an extended services contract on all items and are not responsible for any injuries attained while operating their products.
Known products of theirs include:
- The Sentry Mechnical Firing Device- Model v 2.1 (Designer: The Engineer circa. 1965) ("All the Firepower You Need- With Both Hands Freed!")
- The Uhlman Build-Matic Wrench
- The Dispense-O-Matic 9000 Provisions Dispenser ("The 'All-In-One' Station")
- Telemax Teleporters
- The Sandvich Edible Device
Spytech Industries
Spytech Industries, LLC. is a subsidiary of TF Industries which claims to be "The Industry Leader In Professional Espionage Since 1968!". They possess stock quotes from 'REDD', 'BLUU', 'BMESA' and 'APSCI'. According to a flyer that was posted on the 'Reliable Excavation Demolition' web site, Spytech are also sponsors of 'The 40th Annual Technology Summit' where advances in teleportation technology are apparently being demonstrated.
Their website is restricted to all those without corporate wholesale accounts.
Trivia
- 'TF' is the acronym for 'Team Fortress'. This is either a sly self-reference or an explanation of sorts for the title.
- BMESA and APSCI are acronyms of 'Black Mesa' and 'Aperture Science', referring to Valve titles 'Half-Life' and 'Portal' respectively.
- The model folder in the game files for espionage related objects such as computer banks and missile arrays is labelled 'props_spytech'.
