This is really bothering me, that people are going around spouting that the "Heavy Civilian" is real. It is NOT; When you perform this glitch, you are NOT changing into the Civilian class, you're only glitching the Heavy's animations. For some reason, people seem to associate this animation glitch with actually changing classes into the Civilian. People seem to think that because the Civilian's pose was the default ragdoll pose, that that pose is representative of the entire Civilian class. It was a glitch, nothing more. The actual class itself has been locked away; anything else where the class does not change to a 50 health class is merely pretending. --Warrior 7 03:49, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I saw a Civilian using the Heavy static model last night, usually they are Scouts granted, but is it whichever class you were last using, rather than the Scout model? --Aurora 11:39, 17 December 2007 (CST)

It should've been scout. In the bottom-left of the HUD, it'll show what class you were last, and on the bottom right, the weapon you were last equipped with. But a heavy-static model? @_@ Xenophunk 17:02, 17 April 2008 (CDT)

Well, it seems to be that the Heavy glitch is referred to universally as the "Civilian Heavy". If everyone is referring to it, then there's nothing much you can do. I get where you're going at and agree; it's kinda like how people called 3½ Disks "Floppy disks", even though they were hardly as floppy compared to their 5¼ predecessors. The "Civilian" name to the "Heavy Glitch", as it should be called, will stick. --Kewne 06:38, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Civilians

You can become a civilian with the three classes with no reloads: Pyro, Sniper, and the Heavy.

The Heavy: First, in respawn, wind up your minigun. Still winding up your minigun, select the Heavy class again. You should be moving slowly.

The Pyro and the Sniper are hard to determine if you are a Civilian, as you will remain the same speed. Just waste the ammo, swap to your secondary weapon, and select the class. (Unconfirmed) Xenophunk 00:20, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I saw someone in a pickup, his class was heavy, i looked at score, he was heavy, and he was like a civilian.

Civilian Sniper?

When I was playing yesterday, I saw what could be unmistakeably, a Civilian Sniper. I even have a video that proves it.

It WAS possible, but as I tried it after the May 29th update; it seems to be patched. --Kewne 06:30, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

It's still possible (as of August 17). I (Xaer Raid) managed to become a Sivilian Sniper yesterday somehow by having my Hunstman drawn when Humiliation began.

I can confirm that having the huntsman drawn when humiliation begins does indeed cause sniper civilian. --Thristhart 21:29, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Civilian possible again as of September 15, 2009 update

Recently I discovered a new way to become "civilian" (i.e. get the glitched animations) while playing arena. First you must turn on the "Remember the active weapon between lives" options which were added in the September 15 update. It seems that with these options enabled, when you respawn after the round ends, you will become civilian (you might also have to die first). You can tell if it worked by the fact that you will have no crosshair and be unable to shoot or taunt. Switching weapons in this state makes you go back to normal. If you switch classes while dead and then become civilian, your view model will also show the weapon of the previous class. More testing is needed to determine if this can happen in other game modes. I am the Civilian Sniper

I am the one they call "the Civilian Sniper". How did I do it, you ask? Well, lucky for you I made a demo of it. How am I sure I m he who started it? Well, the next day the patch came out that fixed a server crash when this occured. Yes, the server did crash when I was a Civilian. The method I used was more like the Heavy's Civilian. Harvest

On the harvest map there is a gravestone that says "RIP the tenth class" the tenth class has been noted as the civilian so should we add that? - Not an IP 21:12, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

The civilian is not 'officially' the tenth class. It's just a class that got left in files that happens to not be one of the 9 playable ones.--Wilsonator 21:34, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

My method was patched :S

A while ago I found a Civilian Heavy method done by emptying all the minigun ammo and holding out the empty gun when humiliation starts. It was patched in the most recent update and they didn't even say it in the update news >:( Hardly anybody except my friends new about it anyway.
