Can the enemy engineer see the sapper outline before the sapper is placed while the spy is disguised and/or cloaking with their sapper ready to sap the building?

This is of urgent importance to spies everywhere. --NiteCyper 23:20, 5 April 2008 (CDT)

No, he can't. That would make protecting your buildings and sniffing out Spies way to easy. AAAAAARRRRR 02:59, 6 April 2008 (CDT)
Nope. It's strictly client-side, much like the "outline" that appears for engineers placing a sentry gun. -beep 11:03, 6 April 2008 (CDT)
So it is only visible in the jiffy before you place the sapper? Because I've seen sapper outlines on my buildings before. --NiteCyper 05:07, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
So have I. I also read somewhere that when your engineer you should look out for outlines to see if your building is about to be sapped. The thing is that if there's no one around then the spy's not going to hang around, they'll just run through and sap it, and if there's tons of people around and it's chaotic, all it does is gives a seconds warning, you can't tell who's the spy. --Humbug 00:41, 21 April 2008 (CDT)
I, too, have seen the outlines. Never as the engineer who made the buildings, though, and one time was while watching the respawn-cam. Logiedan 04:11, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
