Talk:Knock back

  • Seems to me heavier classes are knocked back less, e.g. heavies the least, then soldiers, then pyros. I've noticed this when I have been ubered. Can anyone confirm? Eddycurrents

Needle Boosting...

I don't know if this is entirely accurate. Needles dont just knock back whatever they hit, if you've tried it, its fairly random when it will move you and when it wont. I read someone's idea that whats actually happening is the needles are solid, physical objects (as opposed to, like, the heavy's bullets, and what the engie is doing is jumping on the needles, Since the needles are moving so fast, if he can jump just as his feet are touching one, it shoots him way up. This could be verified fairly easily, have some one stand on a high ledge and fall off and see if the medic can keep him in the air without them jumping at all. Needles do have regular knockback, as a pyro hunting medics this is very annoying and happens all the time. --Joffeloff 10:52, 28 December 2007 (CST)
This used to be true. It was changed in one of the January updates (not sure which one). --John 20:48, 28 January 2008 (CST)
The Needle boosting was removed from the article when the patch came out. These are historic comments, they won't be removed because the subject is redundant. --Aurora 04:56, 29 January 2008 (CST)
Absolutely! Not to string this out, and I'm not saying anything is wrong or needs changing or removing, but someone reading the talk might otherwise be confused (since they are unlikely to have also read the history of the article, they would simply see the talk saying needles have knockback, in contradiction to the article). --John 19:33, 29 January 2008 (CST)

Critical hit knockback

It seems to me that critical hits create a knock back effect too. I once hit an enemy soldier with the medic bonesaw to the back with a crit hit and it launched him several meters ahead(he was lucky because it saved him from me landing the finishing blow). Also, when I got hit by crits from other weapons they had at least a small knock back effect on me. Maybe this should be added to the article. Cheers --Sky 22:12, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
