Talk:List of melee weapons

Speeds
Is this table right? I'm sure the Fire axe is slower than any other melee weapon.. --Aurora 16:43, 31 January 2008 (CST)
- I don't think the table is correct, the harder hitting weapons are slower, or at least I seem to remember them being that way, but I haven't played pyro or engi in a while. --WanderingFox (Talk • Contribs) 17:59, 31 January 2008 (CST)
- Thought so, I'm removing the Speed column until some testing is done. --Aurora 02:10, 5 February 2008 (CST)
- All melee weapons except the bat have the same attack speed. For that reason, I think the bat should have its attack rate (relative to normal melee attack rate) listed in parentheses in the damage column. G-Mang 03:12, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- On second thought, considering that there are a few melee weapons with slowed speed and/or abnormal effects, it probably wouldn't hurt to just have a "Notes" or "Details" column. Would anyone be against me adding that? G-Mang 03:15, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Icons
Anybody wants me to add the weapons icons here ? --The_Scorpion 08:33, 4 February 2008 (CST)
- it would make it look better id say go ahead--mark"d"davis 08:56, 4 February 2008 (CST)
What do you think :D ?? --The_Scorpion 10:26, 4 February 2008 (CST)
- Tis a thing of beauty nice work :D --mark"d"davis 10:15, 11 February 2008 (CST)
- Out of interest, where in the gcf can the icons be found? I've searched the whole damn thing and can't find them anywhere!--Wilsonator 04:43, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Thx :-) ! Would it be better if i do the same thing with Primary & Secondary weapons ? BTW why are those ( Primary weapon& Secondary weapon ) not in a table like this one ? --The_Scorpion 10:43, 11 February 2008 (CST)
- Id say yes it makes more sense is easier to read has all the right information in it and preserves all the current links at present its just a list this makes it a bit more usefull--mark"d"davis 07:59, 13 February 2008 (CST)
- I posted a reply to this which seems to have disapeared :% Oh well I guess I'll type it again.. The reason that Primary and Secondary weapons are different is because they are Categories, this article is a List. Note that there is also a Category:Melee weapons, however there is no "List of Primary Weapons" or "List of Secondary Weapons" as they just haven't been written yet. You can read more about Lists on Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Lists, they are different to normal articles as they should purely be a List linking to other articles (although we use tables more than Wikipedia do). A Category isn't technically a created page, they are created by the system when an article is categorized so don't try and make a category in to a List because it will always show the articles in a list format below any text input on the page. Read more on categories in the Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Categorization_FAQ article. By all means create a List page if you want but stick to the naming conventions and categorize it with a [[Category:Lists]] at the end of the list. --Aurora 10:15, 13 February 2008 (CST)
Taunts
Is a taunt a melee weapon? I'm pretty sure showdown is ranged, and if showdown is here, why isn't the hadouken? --Defx 11:03, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- It may be ranged but the taunt is placed according to what slot it's weapon is attached to, because you can only perform showdown with fists, a melee slot weapon, equipped. The same with the Pyro's hadouken. It can only be performed with the shotgun/flare gun, a secondary slot weapon, so it goes in the secondary slot weapon list.--Wilsonator 11:38, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- makes sense --Defx 13:33, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
