Pyro 'translation'

Need some people to fill in what they think the Pyro is saying for some of his reponses- here are the names corresponding to my '?' entries as you can find them in the Team Fortress 2 gcf in the tf/sound/vo section:

"Hurrururururu!" (Possible Translation-?) - pyro_autocappedcontrolpoint01.wav

  • It could be "This one is mine!" -- definitely four syllables, but you can't hear any more than that -Shrike

"Yfrgh!" (Possible Translation- "God damnit!!") - pyro_jeers02.wav

"Mmmrpgh crpyha drghya!" (Possible Translation- "We are in incredible trouble!" He's afraid of the humiliation crits) - pyro_autodejectedtie01.wav

Let's see what you guys can come up with!

pyro_standonthepoint01.wav-Ugh! Pah! Get to this point, you maggot! Michael456 17.July 2008

Killingspree taunts

  • pyro_taunts01 - (Possible Translation -"I use it on your back, because ..mphrph.. like that!")
  • pyro_taunts02 - (Possible Translation- "I put off your light with a fire like that!")
  • pyro_taunts03 - (Possible Translation- "Tell me that the bunch of a staying alive team like fire..")
  • pyro_taunts04 - (Possible Translation- "I'm the hell man!") Michael456 17.July 2008

Set on Fire

Bit confused as to the 'set on fire' responses, as pyros can't be set on fire. Is that perhaps when you set a spy disguised as a pyro on fire, or simply what the files say? Anakronos 11:22, 31 December 2007 (CST)

Pyros don't stay on fire, but they 'burn' when the flamethrower flame is directly over them and will still make 'fire' screams. Also, the Spy imitating the Pyros makes those noises if he is set on fire.--Wilsonator 06:42, 1 January, 2008 (CST)

They could be saying 'aiya, aiya' which is what Chinese people say when something goes wrong.

Battlecry and Heal Thanks

Under match start for "Hudda hudda huuh!", I have heard that this battlecry actually says "Hit'em Where It Hurts". Note: 'pyro_battlecry02.wav' and 'pyro_needteleporter01.wav' are exactly the same, except the later is preceded with a 'Get a (teleporter here).'

  • I always heard this as "For the brotherhood!" But that doesn't make any sense unless someone knows a reference. "For the motherland!", however, was a Soviet battlecry, and seems to fit almost as well. -Shrike 15:53, 17 March 2008 (CDT)

Under healed by medic "Mhnk nhya mgh.", I believe "mgh" is actually doc not man. Frantic 13 January, 2008 (EST)

pyro_negativevocalization01.wav (the one listed in the article as "Ah, your momma") sounds to me like "Aye carumba!" ... Also, to respond to the earlier comment about battlecry and needteleporter, activatecharge also uses the same sound. Now, I'm mostly joking about this part, but when I listen to taunts04, I could swear the Pyro is smugly saying "I'm from Harvard!" ... but I'm pretty sure that's not it. pyro_specialcompleted01.wav-Your teammates had better watch out back for me?
