Title is wrong

I think the title is in Russian. Can we move this article somewhere else?--CountDOODOO 15:52, 1 March 2008 (CST)

Neat! Looks like when S0ReX put in the Russian translation for this article, it changed the English title as well. This would be a question for Aurora, who I think has been working on some of the technical issues for the language pages. --Southpaw018 16:50, 1 March 2008 (CST)

Manual Discussion

Not sure if its a linked article or should be linked from here but the sentry gun manual can be found here http://www.steampowered.com/Manuals/440/SentryManual_web.pdf --markdeadlydavis 09:04, 5 December 2007 (CST)

Wow good find, this is cool. I've added it to an Additional links section. --Aurora 10:26, 5 December 2007 (CST)
That's hilarious "bludgeon device with reckless abandon using wrench included in package" -- Nos 11:23, 5 December 2007 (CST)

"however, if a cloaked Spy "touches" the SG, it will shoot him" -- I've run around and jumped over lots of SGs when cloaked, never been shot. I don't know what this means...? Eddycurrents

I removed it, it was wrong. Wildfire 08:05, 10 January 2008 (CST)

Underwater SGs

Can an underwater SG lock and fire on targets which are outside of the water it is in? Wildfire 08:05, 10 January 2008 (CST)

Yes. Especially doable on the "direct" port of Well Classic (there's a "remake" version as well that makes it a bit harder) and in 2Fort Classic, in the water firing up toward the bottom of the spiral stairs. --Southpaw018 17:04, 10 January 2008 (CST)

Cloaking / Diguising while under fire

If an SG has detected a Spy and opened fire and that Spy then cloaks and/or disguises while under fire, will the SG stop firing once the cloak/disguise is complete? Wildfire 14:06, 13 January 2008 (CST)

Yes, one tactic I've seen a Spy use is if the SG's are protected by other SG's and the Engineer is tending the buildings, making it difficult for the Spy to stab the Engi without triggering the SG's is to stab the Engi and cloak instantly, disguise, uncloack, and then take the buildings down while the Engi is respawning. This is difficult unless the SG's are rotated away at the right time, or if the SG's are only level 1, but can be done. --Aurora 09:18, 14 January 2008 (CST)

Amount of metal required for replenishing ammunition?

Does anyone know the amount of metal required to replenish X amount of ammo for the Sentry Gun? I don't think it's massively important, but it's good to know if you need to go back for more metal or not. I've never done the math, but I'll see if I can do some tonight during a few games... -- Jewbat

I'm not entirely sure but I think 1 bullet costs 1 metal and a rocket cluster costs 3 metal, but I haven't exactly checked --Snack 03:56, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

About Sentry Ammo Counts

To figure out the sentry counts, I rounded up some friends on an empty server and tested by using (Time Taken to empty sentry ammo x bullets/second = amount of bullets). Rockets were simple enough to count. The results were as follows (These numbers were taken if the engineer never replenished sentry ammo):

  • Level 1: 22"x2b/s = 44 Bullets
  • Level 2: 16"x4b/s = 64 Bullets
  • Level 3: 20"x8b/s = 160 Bullets

These may not be entirely right since I used the Bullets/Second count on this page and a stopwatch to count the time, so my reaction time may have been a bit off. --Snack 03:56, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
