Template talk:Delete-author
From TF2 Wiki
We may want to generalize this to simply Template:Delete, and rephrase the text to something like "This page has been marked for deletion" with a reason. Though I'll defer to your opinion, it may be better to have it be less specific /shrug -- WanderingFox 22:50, 4 December 2007 (CST)
- No, because I will probably need a few of these depending on why an article was requested for deletion and by who. Deletion of articles isn't to be taken lightly, this is only one instance that is, I've left empty cats or articles that need to be remove, but it probably wont be this cut and dry for other types of deletion requests. --Aurora 23:06, 4 December 2007 (CST)
- I figured it was something like that, I just wanted to make sure we weren't making the process unnecessarily complex. I'd hate to see new users driven off because they had no clue how to fix their mistakes, or didn't know which template to use, etc. Though I suppose there's only a few cases to begin with, so it can't really get that complex. ^_^ -- WanderingFox 23:08, 4 December 2007 (CST)
- That's right, users shouldn't have to worry about cleaning up behind them to start and in general most don't. But having it generalized and easy to use could be open for abuse. There's nothing stopping anyone from putting a delete template on the page and if the admins (or Nos in this case) have lots of general deletions to do in bulk it would be an easy mistake to make to delete an article accidentally that was marked by someone incorrectly. --Aurora 23:15, 4 December 2007 (CST)
- Agreed, I just didn't want to make the process too annoying to use at all :P -- WanderingFox 23:34, 4 December 2007 (CST)
