Half Life 2
Half Life 2 is the sequel to the hit game, Half Life. It takes place in City 17 years after the Black Mesa incident. It's a story of a scientist named Gordon Freeman who fights his way in and around the city to escape the enemies known as the Combine. This game introduced the Source engine and showcased several of its capabilities such as the emotive facial animation system seen in several in-game scenes. There are two vehicle sequences in the game: air boat and dune buggy. Half Life 2 was published before the advent of Steam achievements and thus there are none defined except for the XBox 360 Orange Box release.
Half Life 2: Episode I
The first of the Half Life trilogy episodes. Gordon Freeman is now tasked to escape City 17 with his friend Alyx Vance. Together the two fight to disable the core and then escape City 17 together via a train right before the Citadel explodes. This game introduced advances to the Source engine such as high dynamic range lighting. It also features a commentary mode which spawns developer commentary nodes in the game world which the player can optionally trigger. There are no controllable vehicle sequences in this game. Except for the XBox 360 Orange Box release, this game does not have any defined Steam achievements.
Half Life 2: Episode II
The second of the Half Life trilogy episodes. Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance must now get past the sudden portal storms and head for a resistance compound called White Forest. This game introduces Steam achievements to all formats of the game. It features a commentary mode.
Portal
Portal is a puzzle/shooter game where the player must use a Portal Gun to escape a rival Black Mesa corporation called Aperture Science. It features defined Steam achievements and a commentary mode.
Team Fortress 2
Team Fortress 2 is the multiplayer feature in The Orange Box. With its colorful art style, quirky yet still serious team based gameplay, 9 set classes, and 6 Offical Maps (more available as downloadable content) the game won lots of praise by both reviewers and gamers alike. It features defined Steam achievements and a commentary mode.
