Trains
From TF2 Wiki
(Redirected from Train)
Trains are an environmental hazard unique to all variations the map Well, though they also appear in some custom maps. They occur periodically at the neutral point in the center and may emerge from either side of the building, indicated by flashing lights and noises. They move slow enough that players can move out of the way, but fast enough to catch sluggish or distracted players unaware.
If a player is hit by the front of the train, they will automatically be killed, regardless of whether or not they are ÜberCharged. If a player is near death and subsequently hit by a train, they will receive one death point and the player/s who damaged him will not receive a kill.
Notes
- In the Meet the Scout video, the Scout is seen outrunning a train as it mows down a BLU Pyro and Soldier.
- Using a specific exploit involving an Engineer's buildings, the train could be stopped in its tracks, negating its threat but also blocking the doorway. This exploit was fixed in a patch. The buildings now simply float until the next train destroys them.
- It is possible to slow the train down using server cvars.
- The numbers on the top front of the train spells 7331, which spelled backwards is 1337. This is a derivative of "Leet" or 'elite'.
- Some custom maps have the train connected to boxcars, making it more of a hazard.
- If the right mods are being used by the server, it is possible to build moving sentry guns on the train that will stay on the train until the round ends.
