Class Sounds
Nos,
Hey, I was reading about Soundfiles on the Talk:Classes (http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Talk:Classes) page from Tf2wiki.net. I want to post all of the soundfiles for each class. I am willing to take the time to do this. However, I need your guidance.
On the page: http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Demoman_responses
I added:
After killing more than 5 enemies in 20 seconds
- "You're all bloody dead!"
- "In your language, eat lead lassies!"
- "All yah dandies prancin' aboot with ya heads full of eyeballs."
o Listen
The listen link. It links to (http://tf2wiki.net/w/images/b/ba/Demoman_taunts01.wav) a sound file of the demoman taunt taken from Team Fortress 2 content.gcf. I did not convert it, but it does play in the browser via quicktime.
-Would this be an appropriate way of adding the taunts? -Does this break any copyright rules? -Should I convert and upload .ogg files instead? -Do you have any suggestions before I upload and link all of the class responses.
I am messaging you because I am unfamiliar with the copyright rules in particular and I do not want to break any rules by upload files.. Please email me back on here or preferably j2p2f2@gmail.com. I really want to improve the depth of tf2wiki.net by contributing, so any help you can provide is more than appreciated.
Thanks!

- At this point, I don't think there will be an issue regarding copyright. I had contacted Valve to try and get permission, but they never got back to me. As far as how to do it, I'm not sure of the best way. Perhaps get a bit of discussion going on Talk:Classes or similar. Personally, I would like to avoid wav files, purely for the size (and the resulting increase in bandwidth costs for me). I'm a fan of ogg, but I think MP3 might be more readily accepted by the users. --Nos 15:59, 10 July 2008 (CST)
