User talk:Stuart P. Bentley
From TF2 Wiki
Hi Stuart, and welcome to the TF2 Wiki. Whilst we appreciate and welcome contributions, it should be noted that if a page uses a template for formatting you should not remove the template. Additionally I beleive the pictures you uploaded (:Image:RedWhiteSpy.jpg and :Image:BlueBlackSpy.jpg) are copyrighted material from Mad magazine. If you know otherwise please use one of the license templates or if one does not exists that covers them, please explain here; otherwise they will have to be removed. --Aurora 15:39, 29 February 2008 (CST)
- I'm not sure what you are trying to get at with the new templates and sarcastic comments. It is true that most images do not have copyright information, however this is something we are trying to address. The wiki has not been around long enough to put such practices and policies in place yet. I really didn't want to be forced to do any of it anyway, I would rather the wiki be run as a Meritocracy and not Autocratic, but it seems some people will always feel the need go against the grain. I'm not trying to be 'anally retentive' or 'pedantic' as you suggest, I politely questioned the changes you made. I still do, I see no reason to have different templates and differing images on the match-ups to every other match-up page simply to cater to someones humor. It seems clear to me by questions of your edits on both your wikipedia user page and your VDC user page that although most likely unintentional, your wiki editing is personally opinionated and disruptive. However that is of course my opinion and if the rest of the community like your changes I won't question them further. --Aurora 17:49, 29 February 2008 (CST)
- I'm just going to say it, I don't like Bentley's latest edits. That Spy vs Spy pics might be cool, but they are not good. Why have that image when you can get the real thing, the actual picture from TF2. I'd appreciate it if you put the old spy pic back up. Oh, and don't replace the already good template with your new ones. A wise man once said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Thanks.--CountDOODOO 20:04, 29 February 2008 (CST)
